Mahakaleshwar
Jyotirlinga is a Hindu temple
dedicated to Shiva and is one of the
twelve Jyotirlingas, shrines which are said to
be the most sacred abodes of Shiva. The
temple is situated on the side of the holy river Shipra.
The presiding deity, Shiva in the lingam form
is believed to be Swayambhu, deriving currents of power
(Shakti) from
within itself as against the other images and lingams that are ritually
established and invested with mantra-shakti.
Kalbhairav temple:
The Kal
Bhairav temple is a Hindu temple
located in the Ujjain city
of Madhya Pradesh, India.
It is dedicated to Kal Bhairav, the guardian
deity of the city. Located on the banks of
the Shipra River,
it is one of the most active temples in the city, visited by hundreds of
devotees daily.
Sandipani Ashram
Sandipani
Ashram is a holy shrine which is built in remembrance of the Maharishi
Sandipani and is considered one of the famous tourist spots in Ujjain.
According to mythology, it is believed that this is the ashram where Guru
Sandipani used to teach Shri Krishna, his friend Sudama and Lord Krishna's
brother Balram. Ashram now looks more like a temple and three idols of Krishna,
Balram and Sudama are present along with that of Guru Sandipani. There is also
a stone where numerals 1 to 100 found engraved and is believed to be done by
guru Sandipani himself.
Bhartrihari Caves
Bhartrihari caves is located around 5 kms away from Ujjain, again, on the banks of Kshipra river. Raja Bhartrihari, step brother of Vikramaditya, was once king of Ujjain. There are two main caves with narrow entrances.
Omkareshwar
An epitome of Indian culture and heritage, Omkareshwar town has a legendary history. Apart from being a pilgrimage center for Hindus, it is also popular for its hanging bridge which quadruples the splendor of the town. The bridge falls over the Narmada river and is popularly named as “Jhula Pul”.
Sahastradhara
Sahastradhara literally means a thousand streams. Narmada river
flows over a rocky patch here and so the main flow breaks down into many
streams.
Ek
Mukhi Datta Temple
This temple is built in 30 sections of land of zone. Temple region
is approx. 10000 sq. feet. It is such a special place. Ek Mukhi Datta Temple is
recently built temple in Sahastradhara, Jalkoti, Maheshwar. It is also called
Shiva Datta Dham and one of the newly constructed temples in Sahastradhara,
Jalkote at Maheshwar. It's additionally
called "Shiva Datta Dham".
Ahilya
Fort
Ahilya Fort, in the central Indian town of Maheshwar, sits high
above the sacred river Narmada. Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar ruled here from 1765
to 1796 and built Ahilya Wada, her personal residences, offices, and darbaar
audience hall, within the fort.
Akhileshwar
Temple
Akhileshwar Hanuman Temple is place to visit not only for spiritual reasons but exciting journey to nature peace.
Tour Guests will arrive at Ujjain station as per their Scheduled train. Upon arrival they will meet our tour manager at the railway station and proceed to Ujjain. Visit the main attraction of Ujjain is Mahakaleshwar temple and Kalbhairav temple, Sandipani Ashram and Bhartrihari Caves. Overnight stay at Ujjain.
Today we proceed to Omkareshwar - a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, also one of the 12 revered Jyotirlinga shrines of Shiva. Overnight stay at Omkareshwar.
After breakfast visit Maheshwar famous for Bollywood film locations. Here we proceed for local sightseeing Sahastradhara, Ek mukhi Datta temple, Holkar wada, Maheshwar temple, Akhileshar temple, free time for shopping and overnight stay at maheshwar.
Today we proceed to Mandu, upon arrival we visit Jahaz Mahal- it was built as a transit accommodation for large number of pilgrims from Afghanistan, Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Morocco and Turkey who came to Delhi to visit the many Muslim shrines. Then we visit Baz Bahadur’s Palace, Jami Masjid and Rani Roopmati Pavilion.Then proceed to Indore via Mahu - a cantonment in the Indore district. MHOW' stands for Military Headquarters of war. This is also a birth place of Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar. Here we take a photo stop at birthplace of Dr. Ambedkar.
After breakfast proceed for city tour. Today we visit one of the tallest statues of Hanuman at Pitra Parvat. Later we visit Rajwada Palace - a historical palace built by the Holkars of the Maratha Empire and Lalbaug Palace. In the evening we visit Sarafa Bazaar.
