Rajgad Fort – The Capital of Swarajya Rajgad Fort, located in the Pune district of Maharashtra, was the first capital of the Maratha Empire under Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Known for its massive size, strategic location, and rich history, Rajgad served as the administrative base of Shivaji Maharaj for over 25 years before the capital shifted to Raigad. The fort is built on a hill called Murumbadev Dongar, standing at a height of 4,350 feet above sea level. It is surrounded by majestic mountain ranges, deep valleys, and stunning views, making it a paradise for trekkers and history lovers alike. Rajgad Fort is divided into three parts: Padmavati Machi (main residential area), Suvela Machi (watch point), and Sanjeevani Machi (defense line). The Balekilla (citadel) at the top provides breathtaking panoramic views.
